The 20-man PCA augmentation team that left Subic last Sunday vi the 8,000-DWT barge of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) arrived in Palo and Tacloban, Leyte 2 P.M. yesterday, November 18, and is now with the PCA Command Center Tacloban.
The PCA team of CM Pancho that is now conducting clearing operations in Tacloban has recovered 11 bodies under the debris. Alongside the PCA clearing operations in the area are local public utilities busily recovering material components from the devastation.
The PCA team of JV Angeles Construction Corporation has already wrapped up its de-clogging operations in the mountains of Jaro, Leyte, hence the restoration of the town’s water system. Same team has also brought two dump trucks to Tacloban to augment the clearing operations of CM Pancho in the area.
Currently, the PCA Disaster Response-Task Force Yolanda is touching base with local government units (LGUs) in Eastern Samar to assess which towns still need assistance.
From the initial ETA of November 21, 6 P.M., the Harbor Star 8,000-DWT barge carrying all PCA equipment and logistics is now expected to arrive at 6:00 A.M. tomorrow, November 20. By noon, all PCA augmentation teams are expected to be in Tacloban fast-tracking their clearing operations.
