The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) invites interested groups to bid for the rehabilitation and upgrading of three provincial ports.

The projects include the P157.82-million rehabilitation and upgrading of the damaged wharf in Legazpi Base Port in Albay Province; the P216.94-million expansion of the Port of Puerto Princesa in Palawan; and the P149.16-million widening of reinforced concrete wharf and relocation of the Roll-on Roll-off (RORO) ramp in the Port of Culasi in Roxas City.

Bidding for the projects will be conducted through open competitive bidding using non-discretionary pass/fail criteria, as specified in the revised implementing rules and regulations of the Government Procurement Reform Act.

Only Filipino citizens, sole proprietorships or organizations with at least 75% interest or outstanding capital stock belonging to locals can join the auction.

The bid document package costs P50,000. The pre-bid conference is scheduled for May 15. All the three projects will have a construction period of 480 days.

The invitation to bid read that only those with Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) registration for the Medium B category, Port, Harbor and Off-Shore Engineering will be allowed to participate in the bidding.

The PPA reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to annul the bidding process, and to reject all bids at any time prior to contract award, without incurring any liability.
